Associate Professor Tsukada was a panelist at the Enablement for Connected Vehicles workshop at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, held in the heart of Barcelona, Spain. The event, held on the morning of February 28, 2024, brought together luminaries from industry and academia to delve deeply into the progress and challenges of connected vehicles.
Enablement for Connected Vehicles Workshop
Organized by Networld Europe and CCSA, the workshop aimed to provide an open information space for sharing views on current and future connected vehicles. Issues, technology trends, and standardization were discussed, leading to a comprehensive discussion on the direction of the industry.
Associate Professor Tsukada joined the discussion in the sessions “Challenge and Evolution, New Use Cases and Technology Trends” and “Standard and Next Step Industry Development”.
MWC Barcelona 2024
In addition to the workshop, Associate Professor Tsukada and Assistant Professor Nakazato visited the booths of NICT and SmartViser, two of our collaborators exhibiting at MWC 2024. These visits not only facilitated ongoing collaborations between academia and industry, but also set the direction for future collaborations. We were also fortunate to be reunited with Dr. Tokuda, Associate Professor Tsukada’s mentor during his undergraduate and master’s years.
Looking Ahead
Collaboration with different disciplines and industries is essential to understanding the future of connected vehicles and how they will impact our mobility. It is our hope that next year, we will have the opportunity to participate in such an international setting for further learning and exchange.
