The 6th Summer School on Cooperative Interacting Vehicles (CIV 2026) was held from August 31 to September 4, 2026 at the Phoenix Seagaia Resort in Miyazaki, Japan. It was the first time the school has taken place in Asia, and Tsukada Lab served as the local host. From September 1st to 5th, 2025, the Cooperative Interactive Vehicles (CIV) Summer School 2025 took place in Blonay, Switzerland. We are pleased to announce that our Master’s student (M2), Tokio TAKADA (髙田 季生), recently exhibited his research at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in collaboration with Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). Takada-san presented a Digital Twin system developed using Unity Engine, demonstrating how digital twins can function as orchestrators for high-bandwidth wireless communications in urban environments. His demonstration visualized ultra-fast data transmission scenarios leveraging the IEEE802.15.3e communication standard in the 60 GHz frequency range. The International Conference on Intelligent Computing and its Emerging Applications (ICEA2024) was held at the University of Tokyo’s Komaba Campus from November 28 to 29, 2024. This conference gathered researchers from various fields to share and discuss the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, deep learning, and intelligent systems. The 2024 Tsukada Lab CRONOS Symposium, funded by JST’s CRONOS program, served as a kickoff event for collaborative discussions on advancing communication platforms that integrate vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) systems with large language models (LLMs) and VR simulation technologies. Our lab members participated in the ITS World Congress 2024, held from September 16 to 20 at the Dubai World Trade Center. This conference gathers experts from around the world to discuss advancements in intelligent transport systems (ITS). We moderated and presented the session “SIS 38: Rationale and Validation of Cooperative Perception Services for Connected & Automated Vehicles.” The session focused on the limitations of Level 3 and Level 4 automated vehicles, which rely on onboard sensors to detect surroundings.
